Default Trans swap??

I have a 1992 f150 4x4. To shift into overdrive you move the shift lever. Question I have is can I put it I to my 1995 f150 4x4 which has the overdrive button on the shifter?

I doubt it, you are going from a mechanical-hydraulic shift to an electrical one with solenoid controls.

Anything can be swapped, but why? It would be a lot of work to revert to a less-advanced less-efficient transmission. Click this & read the caption:

(phone app link)

Identify each transmission model, and post pics of the shift indicators.

You would have to swap shifters for sure. Your current transmission is mechanical shift OD. The button is electronic. If the transmissions are the same, itll work in the '95 but OD might not work

No, the shifter works the same. The button is only to change the O/D strategy in the EEC.
