Default trailer wiring?

Im looking to install a trailer brake controller and a 7-pin connector onto my truck .. anyone know a good place to get a harness? Do they make any plug and play ones for these?

Its a 1995 F150 ext. cab short bed

All of the plug and plays I've seen are for OBD2. I would go to an RV dealer and have it installed. You can do it yourself, but so many people run into issues with old wiring, previous pigtail installs, etc. Make sure when you get or do the 7 pin to install the reverse wire. Most 7 pins leave the reverse wire unhooked because most railers don't have reverse lights. We had ours connected and put reverse lights on our travel trailer. So nice to have that option. Our 2002 and 2003 Silverados both had plug and play connectors except for the reverse lights. Of course my '95 F150 is OBD1 and does not have available 7 wire harness plug ins. We paid the dealer to do all of the trucks for liability.

You can get harnesses to plug in to your harness for a 7 pin, you have to run the trailer brake and trailer battery wires separately.

Well I went on etrailer.com and saw some plug and play stuff for a 4 pin then the connector that adds the 7 pin and the 4 pin connects into it and then you add the rest of the wiring for it .. im guessing that's my only option

And im a mechanic so I dont mind messing with wiring it all up

Check the harness between the crossmembers at the front and back of the gas tank. I have read that some of the harnesses have a place to plug in there.
Or there are the harnesses that come on the trucks with the trailer towing package which have everything including a 2nd small relay box attached to the main one (for the tr brake and charging circuits). Those harnesses have 2 extra plugs at the back (3 pin and a 4 pin) specifically for the application.
All that's probably just too much info but maybe interesting to know.
I'm assuming that you already know that there is (or should be) a connector under the dash by the ashtray for plugging in the trailer brake controller.
