I patched the original radiator on both sides with jb weld plastic bonder put it back in and now the temp gauge only goes from well below C to C. It never gets hotter than C the previous one that was only slightly narrower didn't seem to be working properly in my opinion. I think r is full hot due to it starting well below C.

 

 

That's from driving it for 20 minutes. The other started well below C and reached R within 10-15 minutes.
problem solved i guess.
