Hey, y'all, I thought I'd share the switch panel I made today for the panel below and to the right of the steering wheel. I started by using a dremel to remove the tabs holding the little storage/change-slot thingy to the back of the panel. After that, I use some CAD (Cardboard-Aided Design) to make a template for a bracket which I then made out of aluminum sheet using a reciprocating saw, a drill, a file, a hammer, a bit of angle iron for an anvil, and my wits.
I installed it in the truck like-a-this.
I then took the aluminum I was going to use for the actual switch-panel part and drilled holes in it. I attached it to the bracket with u-nuts and rubber spacers to bring it flush with the panel.
That's what it looks like now. I made it like this so I can easily swap in a new panel if I decide to change the layout or if I bugger this one away when installing the switches. I hope you enjoyed!
