My daughter's 1996 F150 ABS light stays on, speedometer works fine, and Overdrive flashes. I replaced the speed sensor and no change. The Temp gauge also went out. Checked for codes with scanner, no codes but the problems cleared when I unhooked the scanner. Drove the vehicle a couple of miles and the ABS light one and overdrive flashing started again but the temp gauge is working. What could the problem be?

 

If the od is blinking it should definitely be setting a trouble code. Does the trans shift and drive normal? Is the fluid in good condition? Does it have a trans cooler on it?

Do a Google search for "96 f150 overdrive light flashing" and you'll get a bunch of results. Do some reading and it'll give you some things to check out before you spend any money.
