If you have a light tester check your power, you might have a blown fuse if those wires were just hanging out
I will need to try that tomorrow when I pick up fuses, that is the last thing i can think of, if it dose not work i'm going to need to pull the dash out, might as well re-wire the whole thing, can't be as hard than avionics, i just hope the Chilton schematics are accurate.

Hello

Were you able to solve your problem of the radio not working? I recently purchased a 1990 F150 Custom with an after-market CD/Stereo. Stereo worked fine for a couple months, then all of a sudden it and the overhead lamp stopped working. Checked fuses - all good. Bought a new radio, harness kit, etc and installed per the very clear instructions (Crutchfield, btw).

Powered up the truck. Nothing from the radio. No lights, no sound... nothing.

LMK if you were able to figure this out. Thank you!

The transmission gave out on me about 2 years ago on my way home from being discharged, I wired it directly from the fuse panel if I remember correctly, or you can use the 12v aux power plug and unplug the face of the radio to keep it from coming on while the truck is off.

I believe that is what I had to do, it has been a long time and I went over to the orange team. / /
