Default Good Positive Battery Cable?

My existing positive battery cable is in terrible shape - Corroded, beat up clamp, and broken wires at the starter. Who makes a good replacement? Best source?

Click this & read all the captions:

That also works for heavy ring terminals, so you don't have to replace the cable - just its terminals. Then it'll be better than anything you can buy. But if you really want new cables, you can buy them by-the-foot on ebay & Amazon. Look for 4ga 100%-Copper battery or welding wire; preferably with XLPE/PEX/GXL/TXL insulation (not PVC).

Yeah, I've never had much luck with soldering. That's why I'd prefer to buy a pre-made cable.

If you rely on luck, you never will. If you read those captions, & follow their suggestions, you'll get good solder joints.

Rockauto lists STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS A504TA for $26.79 - is this a decent option?

NAPA lists CBL 718485 for $57.99 - seems a bit expensive, but is it worth the extra? (Honestly it looks exactly the same)

If you do not have the means to fabricate one, generally thicker is better suited deliver to high current loads.. No rocket science here.

Find a local auto-electric shop and have them make you one. The type of place that rebuilds starters and alternators will have what you need.

It looks fine to me, though it's not built to be a direct replacement. That smaller ring terminal on the short wire with the yellow butt connector should have been continued to the other end of the long cable to a smaller ring.

I'm sure it comes from the same factory - probably in China.

I have these cables and they are awesome, but pricey. Would recommend them to anyone.
