Question Fuel Pump Issues

I have a 1996 ford f-150 4.9L with dual fuel tanks. I generally use my front tank but recently, I have been having problems. When I am on my front tank, and I turn the key on, I cant hear my fuel pump kick on; but when I switch to my rear tank and then back to my front, I hear my fuel pump kick on and it starts right up. What could be causing this problem?

Sounds like the selector switch may be going bad.

Either the switch is going or the connections for the plug need to be cleaned is my guess.
