Default Driver side turn indicator issue...

Its on a 1994 f150 xlt, 3.0 4wd. I have had this truck maybe 6 months and have rebuilt the trans and the rear end. But this light issue has been a constant. When my marker lights and headlights are off the blinker works. When i turn either on the left hand indicator on the dash comes on and stays on and the turn signal will not work. However if i move the stick manually the rear will flash.... its really a pain. This is my last resort for help. I have checked fuses and the flashers themselves in an identical year and model truck and they worked in the test vehicle. Now im out of ideas. Please help.

sounds like the multifunction switch is bad...$25-100 for the part and about 20 minutes to replace.

Is there a way to test that out. The fact that the signal light stays on in the dash is throwing me and they work when the light are all off and the passenger side works all of the time. Ive been told i should look for a ground fault again. Thanks for your reply.
