If you mean the map lens - that bulb is only on when you slide its switch up. So even if it were a dead-short, it wouldn't blow a fuse until you turned it on. And a shorted bulb won't melt the lens - an oversize or overpower bulb will.

Ok. I didn't change the bulbs in that section of the assembly...only the middle part and I don't know which part of the assembly the shop was talking about as they didn't specify and I had forgotten to ask. I'm still not putting it back in. I will replace it with a plastic tan one. Thanks.

What are you asking? No, it won't work without the truck. When you get the truck close enough to test, then install the light & see if it works. But you can see that the mounting/connection screws are arranged in the same pattern.

Ok, that's what I needed to know. I wasn't sure if the connections were the same, to me it's a garbled mess and I have a hard time distinguishing what's what...
