Default Defroster issue

Hi,
My truck is a 1989 F150 with a 4.9L I6. On Thursday morning, I kicked on the defroster and the idle started fluctuating from normal to low until it died. Just with defrost, not with heat. I ran the AC thinking it might be a compressor issue but it ran normally. Could it be in the switch? Anybody have any ideas?

Mine has occasional bouts on cold weather starts with the idle issue you describe. Things seem to mostly clear up after an IAC solenoid cleaning. Otherwise, I keep my foot on the pedal maintaining the fast idle for about 30 seconds until things seem to settle out.

Default IAC

I'll try cleaning the IAC, hadn't even considered it. Thanks.
