Default deep socket air temp sensor size

Anyone know the size of the air intake temp sensor. I need to use a deep socket. No room for a wrench unless I take off the F.I. rail. 4.9L 94

I'll probably cut the plastic part off with my dremel and use a regular socket.

Looks like a 25mm. I cut the top off with a dremel and used a standard socket. Came right out and the sensor looked really bad. The entire sensor was caked with charcoal and oil. Really bad. But hey, 25 years what else would you expect.

With proper maintenance, I'd expect it to look almost new. But I don't expect anyone to do proper maintenance on these old trucks.

Default intake

I'm wondering if I need to take off the intake manifold and blast it.

That would be the most-difficult & -invasive way of cleaning it. But until there's some symptom that you diagnose as being caused by the residue inside the plenum/manifold, there's no point. It's not hurting anything.
