Default Blinker lever issue!?!?!?

I had too change my blinker lever in my 96 f150 because the right blinker wouldn't come on at all. I was trying to get the one electrical clip off and it just didn't want too come off. Finally when I got it off I found that part of it was melted. I've been smelling this smell alittle right the blinker stoped working. What could this be from? Short somewhere or what? Thanks.

From a short, yes. Where, hard to say. More than likely if the multifunction lever was bad it could have come from there. I would double check your fuses and make sure that you have the proper size fuse in every spot.

Me and my buddy were thinking it was because of the messed up lever. Drove around alittle yesterday and didn't smell nothing but then again I had all the windows open...I'm still going too check the fuses.
