So my son is driving my 95 F150 5.0, I am out of town......

He is saying there is a beeping sound after he turns it off, he can hear the pinging when the key is left in, and there is another sound. different tone and does about 3 chimes.

I hear it over the cell phone, defiantly different sound, no idea since I am not in front of it.


Any ideas?

I think 5 beeps is an airbag problem. Try turning the key to on and see if the airbag light comes on. It should.

 

the light flashes periodically, is there a way to see what is wrong? like read codes?

 

Usually the light flashes are the codes.

For example, when my airbag clockspring went out, it would flash three times, pause, then two more times. That's the key to at least starting to figure out what the problem is.
