Default Weird Electric Lock Issue

Today as I was unlocking the driver's door with my key (no remote), the electric locks went into a kind of "spasm" and were trying to unlock/re-lock themselves. They kept it up as I drove away until after messing with the switch and holding it down for a few seconds, it finally stopped. But it did the same thing on the way home tonight. I have no idea where to even start on this one, any ideas?

That's a new one.
I do know that on the ones with factory alarm/disable, if you don't use the remote (key instead) you have to turn the key all the waynot just far enough to unlock the door. Otherwise the alarm will go off and the truck will shut down (disable).
Possibly related to your issue ?

I have had this same problem on and off for some time. When the door is slammed sometimes it will start acting up. The actuator seems to keep wanting to unlock like you said. It will not stop until the lock/unlock buttons are held or messed with. I eventually pulled the fuse for the door locks but want to fix this at some point. Happens to both sides but seems to originate from driver side door. Possibly a wiring issue somewhere?

likely an intermittent in wiring or switches..you will need a wiring diagram for your specific truck to trouble shoot

Once it stopped a couple of years ago, it hasn't done it since. I've had the door panels off a couple of times since then, and disconnected the switches, but I haven't made any changes. So I'm still not sure why it was doing that, and why it stopped. But I guess the main thing is that it works now!!
