Default Loose Sun Visor question???

What do you Guys do to fix loose Sun Visors?? Every time I hit a bump my Passenger side Visor falls down a little, and if I don't push it back up it just keeps falling. My Drivers side don't fall down as bad,but it could stand to be tighter. I've heard that you can pull the rod out,and then wrap it with a small amount of tape. And that is supposed to tighten it up..I was thinking about just replacing the Rods with new ones, but if there is a trick to fix them on the cheap that would be much better. In my 2002 Lightning & my 1997 Cobra I can just barely touch the Visors, and they fly up & smack the headliner.I don't know if I could ever get my 95's to work that good outside of buying new ones, but if I can just keep them from coming down while I'm Driving that would be great...

Mine doesn' t flip down easy, it spins side to side every time I make a turn. Simple fix....remove the mount and smear a thin layer of Silicon on the mount where the arm makes contact. Would probably work in your case for the flip down issue. I've never pulled the rod from the visor, but I'm guessing it can be done.

Is this the part your talking about putting Silicon on,if it is how will the Silicon keep the Visor up? And if it's not the Part, where on the Hinge Part are you talking about? Name: fordf-150visorclip_zps8ff72d14.jpg

nope, where the visor mounts to the roof on the left and right corners of the headliner. Where the actual pivot point of the visor is.

Yep. I siliconed the ball and have not had a problem with it swinging wildly anymore. I have not tried it on the rod that goes through the visor, but as I said, that may work in your case.
