Heat Temp. Control
1995 f150
The heater control **** rotates and and stops at each end of the cool/warm range, but the heat continues to blow cold.
The heater control **** was "squishie" on the cool end of the dial. I forced to hard and heard a snap. Now the temp coming out is slightly cool but a bit warm no matter where the **** is positioned.
The **** seems to rotate properly but the there is no change in the air yemp that comes out.
How does this system work. Is there a cable that needs to be replace? It seems that something is broken. I have access to a few junk yard. If I need to find a part, what vehicles Will be looking for, all f-series, Broncos?
I have searched the forum and I can't find anything. I wanted to get some feedback here before I start tearing the cash apart. Thanks

Yep sounds like you snapped the temperature blend door cable somewhere. Thats why I always turn down the fan speed before switching from hot and cold.
To get access to the cable you will have to go in from the heater core to see the blend door. That or it broke off at the ****.

I'm a little late here but I had the same problem. Here is what broke on mine. Not the cable but the actual plastic piece. I'll attach pics. Also, I just glued it on until I can replace it. All this is located behind the glove box and kinda at the back left top side use my pics to see what I'm talking about. To remove the glove box just open It and squeeze the sides. Be easy with it though. When you turn the **** for hot and cold it pushes/ pulls the cable in and out to move the white plastic piece where the curly end of the cable is. The first pic is the a/c **** on cold. The second pic is the **** turned to the heat position. And the third pic is the **** turned to heat with the cable attached well glued to the white plastic piece. You may have to rotate the white plastic piece to get it in the right position to glue it or reattach it, depending on what's wrong. It seems to be really common with these trucks. So I'm told. Best of luck if this is the issue. And to anyone else.

If my fan is on full I can feel the **** is tight when I turn the temperature, so to prevent any damage I turn the speed all the way down and adjust. Also dosen't help those temp blend doors are discontinued so if one wasn't repairable you'd have to find it online or a parts truck.
