Default Engine dies when a/c turned on

1994 f150 4.9L , all ok one day next day engine dies if a/c is turned on. checked a/c related fuses, all good. possible compressor or refrigerant leak? had blow-out plugs fail 10 years ago , dealer replaced and recharged system, can it be repeat of issue?

There are no "blow-out plugs" on the A/C system; there's 1 overpressure relief valve, but I've never heard of one failing. Certainly not 2x on the same truck.
