Default dying carpet?

Has anyone tried to dye the carpet that is on the doors? My truck has the red interior and is faded. I'm changing the inner door panels to black and I'm not sure what to do about the carpet. Any one have this issue?

DupliColor Fabric & Vinyl spray paint(?), or whatever it is worked great on a vinyl seat which I changed from gray to black. Great.

I wouldn't hesitate one bit using DupliColor on fabric.

Do you do several thin coats? I ran 2 or 3 on the red carpet with black and it didn't cover very well. Maybe I was too impatient.

This guy is covering tan and it looks more charcoal than black on my monitor, but it should give you a good idea of how to proceed:

Plus if you decide to rub it by hand like he does, I'd suggest gloves! Good Luck!
