Default Dash Conversion - 1995 to pre-1992

Doing a bit of customization -

Looking to put a 1991 dash into my 1995 - anyone done this before?

On initial pass looks doable, need to change out steering column, but other than that seems pretty straightforward. Oh, need to mention dumping computer and redoing wiring.

Appreciate insight.

It should be pretty simple to put an 7th or 8th gen dash assembly in. Wiring would be a pain, but doable. The only real issue id see is the fact that your truck should have an electronic speedometer, whereas the older generation trucks will have a mechanical speedo.

Thanks for the insight, Shagg.

I'm redoing the wiring (https://www.lmctruck.com/1980-96-for...wiring-harness) and anticipated the need for mechanical speedo.

Do appreciate the confirmation.

The older dash, wiring, pedals, & column don't fit the firewall. Buy an older truck if that's what you want.
