So white LEDs would probably be the way to go for that approach.

And I'm looking forward to this guide you spoke of. It sounds like an easy enough process but my truck is in damn near perfect factory condition. I like to fully know what I'm doing before I jump in. Maybe I'll get a gauge face from a scrap yard so that I can keep the factory on in existing condition.

I would recomend getting one from the scrap yard if you are worried about it.
as for the hvac stuff I kind of messed up when pulling the black cover off it seems that its made of a different material then the gauge faces. it be best to leave that alone other then white bulbs

Maybe I'll grab one of those from the scrapyard too, to experiment with. There has to be some way to do it.

theres nothing wrong with your odometer. theres two plastic light channels behind feeding the light to the odemeter, on my f150 i went with red leds and red through the green tint does not show. and theres no way that i found to scrape off the green tint from the odometer.

besides do you really need to see the odometer at night?

Supra, can you post a picture of your dash? I'd like to see what aftermarket dashes are out there.

And collector maybe when I get a scrapyard one ill try to find a way to remove the film for the odo.

go for it I'm sure there's a way to take it off. Again I wanted a minimalistic look to it. Because when im driving at night any light inside reflects of my window tint and causes unwanted obstructions. so far the red does not show up at all at night
I ordered a Red led for the cab light as well.

Smile you guys wanted pics???

hey mista breeze, the collector,i have a couple of pics of my dash now. tell me what you think.at first i got the white face gauges that covered the entire cluster, but it was waaaay to bright for me so i bought a guage bezel to try to mask some of the light and add some style.then i used the same inverter to power the vacuum gauge and went from a white face rpm gauge to a smoked out led digital one.im going to be getting my exhaust done this weekend ill post some pics of that too.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Dont take pictures while doing 70+!!!!!!!!!!!!

it looks like the gauge faces are the issue for the odometer not lighting up, then again i could be wrong.
