The silver/black tailgate trim panel on my 94' XLT has seen better days. I'm thinking of replacing it with one from the 87-91 trucks that has the red stripe instead of the black....would look better on my red truck I think

Will it bolt up the same way?

 

I'm not too sure what your truck looks like but this is mine with an 8th gen xlt tailgate. The rust on my original tailgate was getting bad so I swapped it out for this one. I do have to paint it to match but that can wait

 

^^^Yup that is the one I want to get. The one I currently have has a black strip. 1994 XLT.

 

Anyone with a final word on this? Going junkyard hunting today.

Would also like to know if the rear wheel-well chrome fender trim is compatible from the 87-91 models.
