Projector Headlights
Im looking at spending the money and putting a set of the Projector headlights on my truck. Any of you guys that have already done so do you like them? are there any pros and cons of projector style headlights? Would rewiring the headlights be worth it? ive read a couple of write ups on it, but cant find a clear answer to my question.
Thanks Guys!

I was recently involved with a minor accident which destroyed my front bumper and one of my headlights. Fortunately for me, the accident was not my fault, and so the other driver's insurance paid for the estimated damage. I took the opportunity to buy new projector headlight setup. I love the new lights, I did not have to do any wiring modification, the set that I purchased was a direct fit and very easy to install. The old headlights have the separate assembly for the chrome trim and blinker, while the replacement set I bought is all one piece, and really gives the truck an updated look.
The negatives:
1) I don't see any way to replace the built in LED running lights that are on the new units. I know LEDs are supposed to last for an extended time, but if there is ever a problem with one LED I don't see an easy way to fix it, might require cutting and re-gluing, or possibly replacement of the whole unit.
2) My new set is Black and does not look right with a stock grill. Take a good look at the set you intend to buy and make sure you want that look. I actually did want the black replacement light set, and also purchased an aftermarket black billet grill to complete the look. While I am very happy with the headlights, I am not quite satisfied with the grill, and have not found the right grill to match these replacement headlights. I may end up painting the stock grill and putting it back on.
3) The stock blinker is used with the new set, however there is no amber lens, so the front blinker is currently white, however since the other front running lights are LED now, the blinker/running light bulb has a slight yellow look to it sitting next to the pale LED lights. I need to either swap out the standard incandescent bulb for an amber incandescent bulb (which I think will look silly in the clear housing) or replace the bulb with an amber LED replacement, which will probably require changing the flasher unit. (Note: the headlight set did come with amber incandescent bulbs to replace the stock bulbs)

Back to your issue with the black. Ive seen alot of guys bake their headlights like i said above, then paint the inside of the housing to give it a colored back ground instead of just the black or chrome
I'll be selling my projector headlights in a month or so. Just as soon as I get my new headlights. I've been using them for a few years now, so I can sell them to you for a good price if you want.
