I want to paint my truck flat black but I want to see if any of you guys that own the older f150s have any pictures particularly for a 1990 model

I've been tossing the idea around for quite sometime. But I was told a really good flat black paint job is super expensive because it require a lot of skill. Doesn't make sense to me but I'll just stick with my gloss black for now.

Yeah I heard the same thing. I was thinking of doing it myself. It would be cheaper. I don't want nothing fancy I think that's the point of flat black not to be shiny just dull scary black. Yeah it's mine. I love my truck. 9 inches of lift 38s and a 351m that's built to a 400 with an 870 Holley carb hooker headers and flowmasters exhaust. So it already sounds pretty scary I'm just trying to finish it off with a paint job

You could always plastidip it for a few hundred to see if you like it on your truck and in person before you spend serious money on it.

Yeah but I'm almost positive I want it and I'm getting ready to go to college so money isn't an option. I also wont be driving it for a while except on weekends but I do appreciate the advice trying to save me a couple hundred/thousand dollars

I ended up going with plasti dip as soon as I did some research. Here's a pic

I personally love it. However my mom hates it. I like that I did this so cheap. I know it wont compare to some of those are expensive paint jobs by professionals. It's just something that you have to have an acquired taste with. Not everybody likes it but I do. I still have to do the black I just covered the silver. That's another reason I like it because the silver flakes off so easy and this takes care of that
