Default Arches

Have some rusted out rear arches ,not awful but ordered the repair panels
just wondering if anyone has looked at panel adhesive instead of welding.See. A lot of positive stuff on this for body work

1994 F-150 XLT 4x4

I suppose an adhesive would work. But it will be nearly impossible to hide the fact that they are patches without having been very cleanly welded.

If the seams are positioned well, and blended with body filler, it doesn't matter how the steel is attached. And yes: that's exactly why body panel adhesive was invented. Many new vehicles are built with it.

In doing the front fenders,I see guys selling them in good condition for really the same as new ones.Are the new ones as good in quality as the old ones,gauge of steel etc
i am leaning to just buying the new

Quality of new body panels will depend on the manufacturer, but the originals will ALWAYS be better made and have a thicker gauge of steel. So If you can find used ones for cheap, Id go with that. And if you get new ones, make sure they are CAPA certified.
