I bought a 1995 auto, inline 6, f-150 XL not to long ago. When I went to go look at it, I took it for a test drive. When i put it in reverse, it stalled. The man proceeded to tell me ever since he replaced the distributor cap, its been happening but to just give the truck some gas(Which worked). He told me he put a used distributor cap in the truck. Could this have anything to do with the truck stalling in reverse and also stalling in park sometimes? Its almost like the truck is running really high rpms as soon as i switch into reverse or drive then it quickly dies down if i dont give it gas. In park the truck seems to idle normally.
