Transmission noise 1992 manual 4.9 liter
Hey all, I have successfully gotten help here before, maybe you have some insight into my issue.
At speed on the high way my 5th gear popped out to neutral, after this it would not stay but I could drive in 5th if I held it. I then topped off the fluid with mercon v, and it seems my 5th gear now works. HOWEVER, now there is a faint to moderately loud rubbing noise coming from the clutch area whenever the pedal is NOT depressed (it is not very noticeable but there is definitely friction somewhere). It seems to go away around 4th gear. And ideas? Wrong fluid or eminent master cylinder failure? Does it sound like I am about to strand myself? Thank you.
