Question transmission help

In my 1994 f150 4wd how do i tell witch transmission i have in my truck. So i know what filter to get. Because the auto part store ask me and i went to my local ford dealer and they wouldn't tell but told me they could get me the right ford part for it and put it in for me. I even went to the ford web site and put in my vin number and it showed me it came with 3 difference transmission. Thanks for the help.

Most likely you will have a 4R70w or an E4OD.
There is a white sticker on your driver's door post with spring ratings and such, it will also show a trans code. "E" is E4OD and "U" is 4R70W.
Or you can crawl underneath and count the bolts that hold the pan - E4OD is significantly bigger, I believe it is 20 bolts and 4R70W is 14 bolts.
