What exactly are you doing removing the trans? If its a clutch job, I've always been able to drop the trans without taking the truck off the ground. But if you are servicing or replacing the trans itself, you'll probably need to jack it up a good 15" or so to clear the bell housing past the frame rails, assuming you are on stock tires and suspension height, and the trans is on a jack.

Yes automatic transmission rear main seal and torque convertor Thanks that will help me to get the right size blocking if my jack stands are not long enough. this part might sound stupid but I guess you can't lift the rear and skid it out that way .

The rear axle is the lowest point in the truck, so that would have to be lifted pretty high to get the trans out from under it, but you should be able to pull the trans back a few feet and have access to everything you need, without even jacking up the truck.

Neither your post nor your signature indicates which transmission you're talking about. But if it's an automatic, read this page & the NEXT 2:

Ford is a good brand. We have no idea how much is in your bank account.
