So as yall have probably gathered, I am converting my 95 f150 2wd to 4wd one piece at a time with a six inch lift. So this post is about transmissions. Currently I have the e40d automatic in mine, but I hate the automatic. So I'd like to swap in a 5 speed. Only problem is I'm not sure what 5 speed will work in my truck. I have the 4.9l inline six. I am not sure of what bellhop sing will work with what transmission and I have no idea what type of 5 speeds these trucks had. I know the mustangs had a t5 but I'm not sure if that would work with everything in these trucks.?! Any pointers would be appreciated. My buddies dad has a 4 speed with a transfer case but I would much prefer a 5 speed. Thanks for the help.
