Tps tested at just over 1 volt, and at wot 4.6. When the snow melts or a clear out the shop ill pull the vss and see if its dirty, but last time I did it had no shavings on it.

 

Vss was clean, any other ideas?

Also, cruise doesn't work. That kinda points to vss right? Now, when its cold outside, tourqe converter stays unlocked. It's done it before but only when in the teens or so. I figured ok it's just warming up. Now it seems to be doing it if its 30 outside or so, and only first start of the day.

 

It can sit for hours and not do it again. So, how do you test the vss?

So what have you looked at or tested so far? I`m not a trans person,but looks like you r still looking for help. I would just take it to a trans shop.

 

My trucks never go to a shop other then for tires and alignment, so I fix anything that happens. I've tested the tps sensor, it's within range. The vss was clean, but occasionally my speedo will have an occasional bounce, it might bounce 1 mph. So I wanted to know how to test it, also my cruise doesn't work anymore, it just stopped about a month after I fixed it. The cut off switch was leaking, so I replaced it, along with the harness it plugs too. All fuses are good, brake lights, and the motor can turn easily. I'm saying this because I seem to remember somewhere reading if the vss isn't working properly it can mess up the cruise. So I want to know how to test the vss, but I can't find how. I don't like just replacing parts and guessing.
