Default Rear diff question.

Hey guys I'm new to this site and sorta new to working on my truck s performance. I have a 1992 f150 XLT with the 5.8. I want to have LSD to the rear I currently have the 3.55 code 19. I either want to go 3.73 or 4.10. My question is can I just replace the gears in my diff or would I need a whole new rear end to have posi. I'm am just sick of the one wheel wonder or one tire fire. Thanks guys any input would help

You can either can the whole rearend or just change the gears . It would probably be cheaper
To change the whole rearend out?

Axle code 19 is a open rearend. Just one wheel spin.

Yes and it's alright but just annoying when I'm in snow or slick roads cuz it wants to pull led on take off.

Just so you know its a little worse with a LS rear end on snow, ice or slick roads. Going straight on ice the whole rear end will want to fish tail. Same when turning on ice from a dead stop it wants to spin out.

I'm from Charlotte nc and it never snows here anymore but I go to the mountains occasionally. I'm really just looking for a little better traction in the fields I drive through without puttin her in 4L

In that case, its much easier and cheaper to swap out the rear axle. Can be done in less then a day(or a couple hours) with the right tools and know how. Look for an H9 axle code to find a 3.55 LS
