I have an 86 f150 with a 302 that I converted into 4wd. I picked up a used engine and trans and was told the trans was rebuilt 4 months before I bought it. well in the process of them removing it they bent the linkage.


I get it home and straighten it out but it looks like it could break so I swap the one out of mine, I know I hooked everything up right and the trans was nice and clean inside, no sludge, nothing on magnet.
put everything back together, transfercase back on and put it in the truck and that's when I got called to work out of town.


I never got the chance to put fluid in it and it sat outside from October till now.
I finished everything up on it, fill it with fluid and while filling I notice its full of air, the fluid was just starting on the dipstick and full of air.
now when I put it in gear it wont move. reverse it tries to go if I rev it, neutral nothing drive it tries to reverse when I rev it. park and neutral it doesn't try to move at all, engine has no load, reverse or drive 2nd 1st it tries to go backward and slight load on engine but it wont move.


any ideas on where to start? sorry for long post, just trying to describe it best
