Default Missing and hesitation

My truck is running really rough. It's missing and backfiring. I put new cap rotor plugs wires coil and a replaced all the sensors when I put the new reman engine in. I checked for vacuum leaks Found a couple and fixed them. When I try to adjust the timing it starts bouncing like the computer is trying to compensate. I turn to advance it a d it dies.
Sorry It's a 1991 f150 4.9 5speed trans
I was thinking it might be the distributor can get one for 100

Did you remove the spout plug when you did the timing?

It runs but it's takes a couple cranks of the key it'll catch then it'll sputter and the. Die but it'll finally start then it warms up and run alittle better but still hesitates and misses Around 1800 Rpms but around 2000 it runs pretty good
