K&N Filter System?
I have a 1994 F-150 with a 302 and 4R70W AOD. I'm considering changing out the air intake to the K&N upgrade kit. The reason why is not so much looking to just throw $250 into it, but because I believe the stock intake just a crap system, has leaks, and the intake tube is just downright nasty. Black particles shedding on inside and if you rub the outside, you get black scuff on your skin. IMHO, this can't be good for the truck. What are your thoughts on this upgrade? Are there better options or tricks? I'm looking specifically at this system: K&N 57-2543 FIPK Performance Air Intake System https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CO81KK..._wb5.wbAMVM6Z1

Save your $278.
Clean up your stock intake system and put in a new Motorcraft filter.
There are many threads regarding pros and cons of aftermarket intake systems.
K&N oiled filters do not clean the air as well as stock filters.

I love my k&n filter setup - I have had them in every car I have owned. Immediate gain in throttle response and it makes the truck sound like a v8 instead of a windmill under heavy throttle. Pair it with a decent exhaust and you will turn heads.
Most problems with k&n are user error - improper washing and over-oiling during a recharge. But that's just this reporter's humble opinion.
