Default Issues shifting into second

So I have a problem fellas. When I try to shift into second gear, it starts to grind until I get it into its spot. I've only had the truck for a week. It didn't do it the first few days I had it. The transmission was supposedly rebuilt about 54000 miles ago. I don't understand why it's just one gear. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.

It's a 96 F150 XLT, 302 ci, 5 speed mt, and 4wd. If any additional info is needed, let me know. Thanks again.

For anyone else that has this issue and sees this:
I did a whole lot of research. It looks like it's a piece called the synchro. It's a little piece that will be a pain in your ***. The part itself is about $50 or so. However I saw it could cost as little as $800 or over $1500 for labor. Hopefully this helps anyone out who sees this.

And a way I have learned to cope with it is to press the clutch in, put it into neutral, clutch, into the next gear. Or just wait longer then you will want to to shift.

Too bad it's not first or reverse lol. Glad you found the fix to your problem and thanks for actually posting your solution.
