Hello new to this forum and forums in general.
1995 F150 4x4 with a 5.0 engine mass air and automatic.
I am having a starting issue. sometimes it won't start turn on the key fuel pump cycles engine turns fast like it should but no start.
This happens hot or cold.
I have sprayed starting fluid in the intake when it wouldn't start and it won't start on it either.
After some time anywhere from five to forty five minutes it will start.
I started to check the coil for voltage when i heard the fuel pump cycle again and it started right up and runs perfectly when it starts.
every time it doesn't start its the same thing eventually you hear the fuel pump cycle a second time and it will start.
I am out of ideas and I hate to just start swapping parts.
Please help.

That description sounds like an ignition or EEC fault, but EEC failures are very rare except in '87-93 trucks.That suggests an ignition system fault. If the ignition system was working & the EEC was dead, the engine would still run on anything flammable.That suggests EEC, but I still think you should start by diagnosing the ignition system.Do you have a Haynes? Now's the time to get one, but read this caption first:
