Accelerating from a stop the truck seems to shift to second fast and hard. Just got the truck. '95 with the 5.0 auto. Fluids all checked and good.

Thoughts

 

Could be something as simple as crap motor mounts or transmission mounts causing hard shifting. The speedy shift could be a valve body issue. I'd check external mounts and rule them out.

 

I drove 3 of them before I bought mine and they all felt like that to me. Some worse than others. My truck now shifts pretty firm from 1st to 2nd at about 25mph. I'd say some firmness is normal but banging, yeah that's not good when you are talking about a transmission
