Hi all
How can I tell whether I have a Dana 44 or a Dana 50 on my 1994 XLT 4x4
I May have to replace the driver side axle housing

Both diagrams in the Chilton show the same part #38403 so does it matter

The Dana 50 has a big "50" on the side of the case
The 44 has nothing IIRR and yes, the front housings are the same

And I see a front housing for sale on EBay from a 1986 Ford F150 4x4 Dana 44.Would this be the same front housing for a 94 Dana 44
It says it will fit my 94

mine has a 44 on it which I figured it’s a D44.
