Default Front Axle

M trying to figure out what front axle I have so I can find a selectable locker. I have a 95 F150 XLT 5.0 4X4 with IFS. Also I'm wondering what kind of selectable lockers you guys might be running and what you think of them. Also any thoughts one which brand you like or think I should look into even if you do t have one. Thinking about the Eaton E locker or ARB. Leaning towards Eaton more. Thanks to everyone who comments.

Your front axle is a Dana 44.

I have a grizzly Duragrip limited slip with 4.56 gears and 33 inch tires and I have broken the center u joint and the right hand outer shaft in the first thousand miles since the upgrade with very light use. Idk if this is just bad luck or if the d44 ttb axle just can't handle it. I think you can use a d50 slip yoke out of a three quarter ton and then get chromoly shafts and that might help. I am in the process of figuring out this problem myself.

I've got my right front axle (the outer portion) removed, for a new U-joint and outer section at the same time(damaged by needle bearing failure).

How does the left side come apart? Do I need to remove the diff to partially disassemble from the inside? Or does it take a hammer to collapse a C-clip? I can do solid rear axles all day long LOL, not sure if I've ever done fronts like this.

Just going by the dana 35, the driver's side just pulled out of the diff. The passenger side you had to drop the diff and undo a c clip. Somebody had a blow up of the Dana 44 posted in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks Chris_1, I'll be pulling mine out tomorrow. I got the right side rebuilt by a local driveline specialist, so I want the left done by the same place. While I wait for that, I can have the diff off to inspect.

Has anyone had a drain plug installed on that front diff? Best route to go on that?

Front Diff out, maiden voyage today in RWD only, SO HAPPY!

I'll call around on Monday to see if I can get a drain plug installed on that front diff. Won't be much to be ready to re-install all of the front 4wd components. Pleasantly surprised when I removed the front diff, it appears to be new! Contradicting everything else I've disassembled on the truck lol....
