Post Engine noise, ticking

96, f150 302 auto. Just got it a little while ago. The engine has that old little ford ticking noise. I'm assuming it's a manifold leak? But I could be wrong? It speeds up when I speed up, and stops when I'm off the gas. Any advice? I'm looking to make this girl pristine.

Had that same problem…it was a crack in my manifold. Or it could be your EGR tube

How much did that run you to fix? If it ends up costing me a pretty penny I'll deal with it until it gets bad. You gain any more power by fixing it?

The manifold was $70 I think from autozone then I had a back yard mechanic install it for 125$. I waited till it got to the point that it was ticking bad when it was fully warm. I didn't gain anymore power from it
