Question EGR Issues

The CE light in my truck recently came on, and luckily i was working at a "shop" at the time that had a snap on solus code reader that would read it and do a KOER and KOEO test and it came back as the EGR being stuck closed. I replaced the EGR with a brand new Borg Warner replacement from oreily and reset the code but the light came back on almost immediately, i then tried disconnecting the battery for ten minutes and the light still came right back on. When i am driving the light will turn off every few minutes for 10-30 seconds. I checked the plug that goes to the EGR and it is functioning just fine. The vacuum line that goes to the EGR has pressure. Could it be that it does not have enough vacuum to pull the EGR open? or is there something else that i need to check? and how would i go about checking the vacuum to the EGR and how much pressure should it have? BTW it is a 1993 f150 with a 5.8

Don't know the vacuum specs, but you ought to be able to suck on the EGR hose and see it lift.

The three other main issues are -
1) The position sensor sitting on top of the EGR valve. Supposedly, when changing this, be sure to get the right matching color.
2) The vacuum control solenoid. On one of my EGR problems, found this solenoid had a little foam air breather filter on its underside that was plugged up solid, relating to the intermittent check engine light -apparently letting vacuum out of the EGR is just as important as pulling vacuum when the computer measures response times and the like.
3) The vacuum lines. My vintage used those plastic type lines notorious for falling apart with age, easily replaced with rubber vacuum line.

Hope this helps...

Doing the KOEO test is only part of pulling the codes. Do the full test with a paper clip etc and the CEL to get the full story and make sure there isn't another code that is causing the EGR problem.
All the sensors and solenoids are interconnected through the computer.

The truck has a code 332 which is the EGR not opening, and also a 334 which is EGR closed voltage higher than expected
