Default e4od questions

so I just got this 95, per the door tag, one number I got off the tranny and reading I determined it has the e4od. the truck seemingly shifts and drives pretty good until fluid gets hot from running, it does leak fluid and the guy I bought it from says as it runs longer the fluid leaks worse. once fluid gets hot the shifting starts to slip and actually shifts harder. The majority of posts and info I have found sort of indicate the tranny is just bad and should be rebuilt/updated. I wanted to get some more info before just pulling tranny out and taking to a shop. thinking that trannys shift with pressure I was curious if the leak was bad enough could it cause the shifting issues or is it more likely just part of its dysfunction?

Where is the fluid leaking from? The bell housing? And with it leaking, you are adding fluid to keep it at the proper level right?

leak appears to be a front seal, fluid at front of tranny around bellhousing and also what looks like an plug toward the front. haven't driven enogh to cause that much of a loss of fluid yet, want to get more familiar with what I am dealing with

ended up taking to shop for checkout and repair, few scrap metal pieces in the pan and cooler stopped up, should be good to go with the new internals and a external cooler by tomorrow.
tranny was toasted, guy didn't believe it should have been able to be driven at all
