Cursed Concentric Slave
OK. I have a 1990 F150 Supercab, 4x4, 302 and just installed a ZF trans.
I also installed new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, heavy duty clutch, PP, bearing. HOWEVER, after bleeding over a quart of fluid through the system(while installed) I still have slightly spongy feel to the pedal and clutch engagement with about 1/8" -1/4" pedal movement. Difficult to get into 1st and reverse.
Any ideas on how to completely remove the air out of the system? Or perhaps a way to make adjustments on this pathetic system?

OK. Ill answer my own question. On the end of the pedal shaft there is a nut and a stamped steel arm which actuates the MS pushrod. I removed the nut, then with much effort removed the stamped steel arm. Both the arm and the shaft are splined, so I simply rotated the arm one tooth, removing all slop between the pedal and the MS pushrod. It actually placed a very slight amount of preload on the MS pushrod, so now the clutch pedal is firm from top to bottom and clutch engages about halfway. Perfect. No further bleeding necessary.
