Question Converting from EFI to Carb Setup

'91 F150, 5.0L/302 with EFI and Auto (AOD). Bone stock.

After a solid year of my trying to diagnose and repair the electronics system in this thing, including some very expensive visits to Ford-specialized shops and experts in electronics, I'm throwing in the towel. All of the sensors have been replaced 3 times (except the TPS which has been replaced once) and every time they have burnt out within 200-300 miles of operation - putting me in limp-home mode at best and nearly leaving me stranded at worst. I've even replaced the computer as well - all, eventually, to no avail.

At this point, I think the next step is to scrap the EFI entirely and go with a carburetor setup. I know that I'll need a new intake, carburetor, air cleaner. I'm guessing that I'll need to switch out the distributor as well. And that is where I need and would really appreciate everyone's input. What intake/carb combos would you suggest? What distributor? Any special adapters needed and, if so, from where?

I use the truck as a truck; the engine is solid and I don't plan on hopping up any of the internals in it. I just want to be able to get in this beast and know that, when I need to drive it, it'll be ready and able.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!
David
