Hello all, New to forum! I’ve searched and haven’t seen what I’m looking for. My truck is a 90 5.0 with the Mazda 5 speed. E7s have been home ported and milled to 58cc. I have the TF spring upgrade kit on them. I currently run Comp Cam 31-255-5 with Scorpion 1.72s. This winter she will see a new set of aluminum heads. My question is this, is it worth it to swap to the 35-512-8 cam? If the only difference would be easier moving parts of hydraulic rollers, I don’t see spending the $1k (cam, lifters, dog bones and tray). If it can give a decent power boost across, I can accept that. Anyone by chance made a swap close to this? Her daily use is pulling a landscaping trailer. Rear end has been swapped from 3.08 to 3.55. I do use a mustang Megasquirt PNP ecu, tuning isn’t a factor.

That alone will liven up the engine
I would go the additional 1k on the roller cam while you are in there

 

Thanks for the input! Guess I’ll hold off a little longer on the turbo then. Might as well go ahead and get the truetrac and 3.73s at the same time haha
