Default 86 351w carb comparability with 96 5Lefi 4r70w

I have a 96 f150 2wd 5L efi. I want to put in a 351w carb motor. I believe I am clear on the necessary mechanical changes but I can't find an answer on whether my computer controlled 4r70w tranny is comparable mechanically and electronically and if so, do I need to make any changes e.g. torque converter, flex plate, h. balancer, wiring, etc. Thank you

Comparable to what? Changing to an older engine or carb will make the truck illegal to drive on public roads or lands, regardless of local enforcement or inspections. It will also make it less-reliable, less-efficient, less-powerful, and less-durable.

Default Risk

Thank you for replying but I'll take my chances and even risk being labeled "Old School" There's something about a big, bumpy cam and rough idle that I still love.

Default Sorry

Sorry Bronc, what socialist state do you live in? Here, in FL., we more or less say screw the politicians and the state patrol even run hot motors with open headers on their fun vehicles.
