Default Bad Clunk when shifting.

My 92 5.0 AUTO shifts hard into reverse and into drive. When the engine/trans are cold its is particularly worse. It will shift hard when being put into gear and sometimes shift hard from 1st to 2nd. When i turn overdrive off it goes away a little but the problem is still there so im thinking my overdrive gear is ok. My out-put shaft is tight but the rear pinion seal and rear u-joint are somewhat questionable. Also at 70mph the whole truck begins to shake, i am in 2wheel and both hubs are free so it is not the 4x4. Any input helps out! Thanks!

Not sure if you got this fixed or not but I just ran into this problem and it was a 15amp fuse that was blown... check your fuses.

Thanks, and really a fuse caused hard shifting? That is the oddest thing I've ever heard...

It's the transmission interlock fuse at the very top of the fuse panel that you can hardly see... It's a 15 amp fuse
