It's curious to see here. I have a 94 4.9 xl with a manual. It has 4 numerical gears, overdrive, and reverse. What trans is this? Also, can anyone tell me or at least point me in the right direction of why it shudders sometimes?

 

5speed transmission. When does it shudder?

 

Shudders randomly, but usually a few seconds after its put in gear, and when you're on the gas accelerating for a long period of time.

 

my 94 with the 300 in it started doing that when the fuel pump started going out... go to the autoparts store and rent a fuel pressure Guage there's a valve on fuel rail on the passenger side close to the fire wall where you hook the Guage on to it should be reading like 50 to 60 psi after u turn the key on and off once or twice... mine was only at like 25 30 psi ... also could it be a bad plug or plug wire? if it's a 300 i6 and has 5 speed it's most likely a m5od made by mazda.
