Default Trouble getting leaf spring in

So I got my springs back after getting an add a leaf put in and I'm assuming they re arced them a bit cause they are insane lol. But basically I can't get the spring to meet up with the shackle. I have it bolted to the front leaf spring hanger but can't get it to the shackle. As well, the center eye bolt for the leaf spring looks like it's not centered with everything else. Should I move the front leaf spring bracket back a bit or will it correct itself once there is weight on it? I'm not really sure what to do.

You need to figure out a way to compress them down - and if I were you I would do it the other way - attach the shackle to the spring, bolt those in, then attach the front bolt.

It's also important that the bolt where the spring meets the shackle faces outwards - otherwise it will grind against the frame. Another reason to do the shackle first because the bolt won't fit through the backside because the frame gets in the way.

If I remember correctly I used a big crowbar or chisel as a sort of reverse leverage against the hanger to get the spring to spread out and bolt up in the front. Kind of hard to explain but it becomes obvious when you mess with it.

I did that job a few years back.
Used a come along to pull the spring to the front of the truck.
Much profane language and many beers kept things moving along.

Thanks guys. And yeah. Have said ouch plenty of times and more than enough curses. I forgot to mention that I did a shackle flip and basically what I have seen on other builds is with the springs at rest, the shackless needs to be straight up and down.

So here is what I have began to do. I have moved the shackle bracket and shackle forward a little bit on the passenger side and will move the front bracket back a bit. That way it will bring the center point of the axle back to the center of the bump stop. I'm not taking it all the way back though just so there is a bit of room for play once there is weight on the suspension. I figure to plan for an inch or two of difference. Any thoughts or questions? Hopefully it works out good
